THOT Paradox, Episode One : Measuring Intimacy

2020.04.27 00:36 Gami_Lon THOT Paradox, Episode One : Measuring Intimacy

Here's the first episode of "THOT Paradox."
In "THOT Paradox", I like to examine some of the seemingly illogical behavior of men and women, when it comes to sex.
For me, "THOT Paradox" is probably the funnest stuff to write about, and I hope you enjoy these posts. At the same time, "THOT Paradox" will seem like complete bullshit larping unless you fundamentally understand the basics of "THOT Research." IE, don't start with "THOT Paradox", start with "THOT Research."
"The term paradox is from the Greek word paradoxon, which means “contrary to expectations, existing belief, or perceived opinion.”
It is a statement that appears to be self-contradictory or silly, but which may include a latent truth. It is also used to illustrate an opinion or statement contrary to accepted traditional ideas. A paradox is often used to make a reader think over an idea in innovative way."
When I first started dating online, I generally let the woman control the pacing. For instance, I'd often notice that if I asked for a date really fast, the woman would stop replying to my emails. I also noticed that some women were not willing to meet up for dinner. They wanted to meet me at a coffee shop, in the afternoon.
After about a year of this, I started to notice that none of my coffee shop dates every went anywhere. At the same time, I noticed that when I met with a woman at a bar late at night, the date was often brief and nine times out of ten, we went back to her place on the first date.
This inspired me to spend some time thinking about "intimacy vs pleasure", as described in THOT Research, Episode Two.
As I saw it, what was happening with the coffee shop dates was that I had failed to create any kind of intimacy. IE, the woman who I was meeting up with, she didn't trust me. She wanted to meet me in a safe space because she wasn't comfortable with me. I'd failed to create any kind of intimacy.
We see something very similar when we sell things on Craigslist: if I am selling a bicycle on Craigslist, nine times out of ten, I'm going to drag the bike over to my nearest Starbucks. I do this because I don't know if the person that I'm dealing with is a lunatic. To insure my safety, I am not going to let them know where I live.
Everything that I am writing in this post hinges on one belief: The belief that women prioritize intimacy over pleasure. If you don't believe this to be true, stop reading. The rest of this post will make no sense. If you do believe this to be true, continue on...
If you believe that intimacy is important to a woman, then one of the barometers of intimacy is whether she will come into your home or your car.
For instance, I could be talking to a girl online, and we could be hitting it off like you wouldn't believe, and there could be incredible physical attraction between the two of us... but if there's no intimacy, it's not going to go anywhere. (IMHO)
On the flipside of this equation, I could be talking to a girl online, and the conversation could be kinda "meh" and the she might not be physically attracted to me... but she may feel intimate with me. John Mayer is an obvious example of this phenomenon. He's short, he's overweight, but he has a a silver tongue and he knows exactly what to say to make a woman feel that she's appreciated, she's beautiful, she's special. Most importantly, John Mayer is NON-threatening, and I think that's a huge part of establishing intimacy. SAFETY is a huge component of INTIMACY. We'll get back to that in a future episode.
Put all of these things together, and you'll find that inviting someone into my home was a fast way of measuring whether we'd established an intimate relationship:
I could have found these women anywhere. OK Cupid, Match.com, Craigslist, whatever. The cool thing about Craigslist was that it gave me an opportunity to bring women into my home without investing a lot of effort.

2020.01.25 02:45 Rocket_girl_803 Jessica Simpson gives her perspective of her relationship with John and the infamous napalm comment

Story https://people.com/music/jessica-simpson-memoir-john-mayer-relationship/
It’s an excerpt from her new tell-all and the People commentary is super gossipy.
Synopsis; Their relationship was “intense”. He would tell her he was obsessed with her (cringe) and built up her confidence. But, she was intimidated by how smart he was and didn’t feel like she could keep up with him in conversations. So she would have friends check her texts to him for spelling and grammar. She was dealing with a substance abuse problem (which is mainly what her book is about) which was exacerbated by the insecurity the relationship was giving her.
She does note the he loved her in the “way he could”. She also calls him the “most loyal person on the planet”, but he broke her trust when he made that comment knowing that it would make headlines and everyone would see it. It doesn’t seem like she has quite forgiven him for it but she does acknowledge that he publicly apologized.
All in all, it doesn’t paint John in too bad a light (and it does squash rumors that he cheated on hewas a serial cheater). Plus, he made the comments a decade ago during his ego maniac phase and they dated more than a decade ago and to his credit he has seemed to mellow a bit.
Interesting tidbit; His opening line to her was that he liked a song she had written which is also how he struck up his fling with Taylor Swift.
All in all this is all very gossipy but seemed of note since several recent threads have been regarding his love life.
